Asian United Cricket Club (AUCCHK) was founded by Franklin Paul Das, Gurinder Preet Singh & Faizan Sher Niazi in October 2018. AUCCHK is a social cricket club that aims to support disadvantaged people from the refugee and asylum seeker community by providing them with opportunities to play organized cricket. The team has grown from 3 players initially to over 20 players, making AUCCHK Hong Kong’s first Refugee / Asylum Seekers (RAS) Cricket Team.
We believe in the future of these individuals and want to do our part as a social responsibility. We are a non-profit organization promoting cricket among Hong Kong asylum seekers. Our vision is to bring all (AS) who are in Hong Kong and want to play and positively invest their time and talent. As per Hong Kong Law, Asylum Seekers (AS) CAN NOT WORK and those who are sitting free go into depression. Our vision is to bring them out of depression with the help of sports (Cricket) and show the World their Talents. When we start playing Cricket in 2018, there were only 2 (Two) (AS) were playing Cricket. Now in today’s date, there are around 25 players, and numbers are increasing, including 3 (Three) girls who are also playing Cricket in different teams.
We have completed our first cycles of selection. Now we have 25 players on our team and going to increase to 36 players by end of 2022. Our organization is committed to building a model that is great for the fans, the players, and their families. This means we will be able to provide long-term stability and a focused pathway for both ends of our business; ensuring we grow healthily whilst giving back to those who share our vision for cricket in Hong Kong. Let us take this moment to thank all our supporters who have been closely watching us grow over the last few years and have helped us reach this milestone.
In the HK Challenge League Division 3 (HKCL3), we have successfully finished the season. We won 7 matches out of 8, by leading the top of the table by 14 points, Winner Championship of Hong Kong Challenge League, Division 3 (entry-level) 2020 – 2021 & First Runner-up of Hong Kong Challenge League, Division 2, 2021 – 2022 our team has achieved much success as we were invited to play in many friendly matches against top Hong Kong teams. We are proud of having helped one of our players get back on track after he was suffering from depression and addiction to illicit drugs. As a team, we have become stronger and more determined to help each other because of our love for cricket.
The path is never easy; however, the journey is full of challenges. Our team has faced many difficulties since our beginning, as we did some mistakes by trusting some cunning and wrong persons/players, who break our trust with wrong promises. But no matter what happens, we never give up and fight for our dream!
Our vision is to explore and help young people play in their way. Our target is to boost the children’s and youth’s spirit through sports/cricket, helping them to stand by themselves, encouraging and educating their families to send their children for playing sports/ cricket so that we can also make a Junior Cricket team as a back-up for the senior team. Also, our Target is that we should educate junior players with a positive mind through Sports/ Cricket so, that in the future they can give their contributions to World in positive ways.
